For the coming weekend, we have for you another tournament which, we hope, will be as popular with you as the previous one was.
Below are the major features of this tournament
Dates
The tournament will start on Thursday, April 9 and the semi finals and finals will be held on Monday, April 13, 2020.
Two Leagues
We propose to have a Gold and a Silver league like all major tournaments. Teams in the silver league will be allowed to have just one National Master in their team.
There is no restriction on the number of members in a team. However, one person can play only in one team. Both leagues will have a maximum of 30 teams with entries being granted on a first come First Served Basis
Schedule
Both Gold and Silver leagues will play according to the same schedule below.
The Swiss League will be have 9 rounds, each of 10 boards, as follows.
9th April Thursday

10th April Friday

11th April Saturday

The top 16 teams in each group shall qualify for the pre-quarter finals knock out of 2 sessions of 10 boards each.
The line up will be 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 and so on. There will be no carry over |

Quarter finals | 3.00 pm
The winning teams shall play a quarter final league in two groups (1,4,5,8 and 2,3,6,7) and will play 3 matches of 10 boards each. We will be using common boards from this stage onwards. Top 2 in each group will play the semi finals on Monday |
13th April Monday | Semi Finals will be between Winner of Group 1 vs Runner up of Group 2 and vice versa.
The semi finalists will play 2 sessions of 12 boards each |

The losing semi finalists will play off for the third place in 2 sessions of 12 boards each. |
General Conditions of Contest
- Entry
Entries have to be submitted by filling up this form. Those who have informally submitted their entry may please fill this form to confirm it. Entries will be accepted only via submission of this form
Entries are limited to 30 teams in each section for now.
The organizers reserve the right to reject any entry without assigning any reason whatsoever.
- Honoring our volunteers
Like the previous tournaments, we will be donating all contributions made by you to volunteers at our physical tournaments all round the country. We collected close to Rs. 35,000 last week. We could off the top of our heads count over 30 volunteers round the country.This is the reason, we have requested a minimum contribution of Rs. 1,000 from each team. We would welcome more and would like to reiterate that this contribution is entirely voluntary.

- Barometer
Barometer will be switched off throughout.
- Kibitzers
During the league, Kibitzing will be switched off.During the play offs, if both teams agree, Kibitzers may be allowed subject to the proviso that the Director may, at his discretion, switch off Kibitzing.
- Undo
During the league, teams may mutually agree to allow undos
During the play offs, undo will remain on, but will be only allowed with the express permission of the director
- Psychs
Conventional Pyschs are disallowed in the event
Psychs are disallowed in the Silver Tournament
Psychs are allowed in the Gold Tournament subject to the proviso that an individual does not psych repeatedly and regularly. The opposing team is requested to bring all psychs to the TDs notice to prevent misuse of this facility.
- Insufficient Boards It is the responsibility of both teams to ensure that the match is set up using the correct number of boards. In the event that a match is set up for fewer boards that required, the rest of the boards shall be treated as scratched
- Withdrawals
Withdrawals are not allowed after a draw has been made. Teams withdrawing in this manner will not be allowed to play in the next event.
Post qualification, withdrawals are not permitted. Teams withdrawing will not be allowed to play in the next event.
- Ethical Behavior We expect all participants to adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior during the play of this tournament. While we find it painful to issue such a statement, it is equally painful to admit that making such a statement has been felt necessary by the organisers. Players whose behavior was reported as suspect are being watched by the CTD as well as other senior directors of the country.
Miscellaneous
Anything not covered here is at the discretion of the organizers. They may opt to consult with one or more senior bridge players / organizers, but their decision will be final and binding in all respects
