Greetings from BFI President – Mr. Sutanu Behuria

Hello Everyone!
My name is Sutanu Behuria and I have the privilege of being elected as the President of BFI.
 
I would like to thank all of you for your support and pledge to do my best for the benefit of the bridge fraternity.
 
We have had an introductory meeting of the Executive Committee and some issues were discussed but we intend to have a more in-depth discussion on 10 October 2022.
 
My immediate objectives are:
  •  Get greater recognition for the game from Central/State governments and the private sector. As a corollary of this explore ways and means to improve the financial standing of BFI and the State Associations.
  •  Introduce greater transparency in the functioning of BFI, especially with regard to selection processes and financial expenditures.
  •  Increase the involvement of State Associations with BFI.
Naturally, we are all interested in greater participation of the youth and women in bridge. However, this is a process and will take time and needs the involvement of the entire bridge community. I would request all your support for this as well as any other initiatives the Federation may take.
