Team BridgeDuniya @ Summer Nationals – Day 1

We are here at Nasik, after a long day – a flight to Mumbai, followed by a just a little too long drive, to be a part of Summer Nationals that kicks off tomorrow.

The team is represented by Vivek Bhand @janubandey, Joyjit @joyjit, Paresh @pareshgupta and your truly (@thak)

So far there seem to be 20 entries for Tolani Gold. Notable absentees are Formidables and Dhampur Sugar.

Everybody else seems to be here though, we have:

• CV Rao – including the 4 members of the team that represented India at just concluded APBF Championships at Seoul, and CV Rao.
• Acropolis – Easily the team with highest popular support, consisting of Anil Padhey, Vinay Desai, the inimitable Raju Tolani, Ajay Khare, Arun Bapat and Sunil Machchar.
• Hemant Jalan – A bunch of highly talented and friendly guys, consisting of some of my most favorite bridge players and friends. The team has got a major boost with the phenomenal experience of  JM Shah joining forces. Others on the team are Hemant @hemant, Ashish Malhotra @am00700, Kaustubh Bendre @azadhind, Sandip Datta @sandip1408 and Swarnendu.

Will try and post some information about all participants soon.

The format is not, I understand, as yet finalized, and may depend on eventual number of entries. Whatever the format, it rates to be a highly competitive week of bridge.

Will keep you updated about how we progress in the journey, and how far we are able to stay on the straight and narrow path.
