Anoop Dhawan pairs discussion thread

Subhash @offethebend and Tiwari @rtewari lead at half way stage with massive 58 IMPs. Sidhartha Beharuia @sbehura and Ak Sinha @aksinha 2nd with 37 IMPs. Self and pd @natskh are 3rd with 31. A few opportunities went  abegging but that’s the beauty of this game. Good satisfying game so far.

    Excellent tournament!
    Very well-organized.
Has raised the bar for how tournaments ought to be conducted
Congratulations to Joy, Pant Sahib, Sudhir, Sandeep, Natasha, and all others who worked hard to make it an unqualified success
A special thank you to the Man with the Big Heart; the always-smiling, Anoop!
Congratulations to Rajeshwar and Subhash and all other winners (actually, this was a tournament in which everybody was a winner).
    Cheers

V good Dhawanji for encouraging bridge at the top level
I only wish that you could have allowed more pairs

However a good tournament. Enjoyed watching it on BBO

Pandey Ji – this was an inaugural event – and we all stepped into it with a bit of trepidation. Not only that, the event was planned only because Rama Jain pairs had to be scrapped. The scale was kept intentionally low.

However, given the amount of interest, and seeing how successful the event has been – Mr. Dhawan has volunteered to scale it up in a big way in the next episode. Thank you @anoopdhawan.

the tournament was well organized but strongly feel cross imping (second preference convert to V.P’s with new scale) is better…

Sad that we didn’t know about it. Uttam and myself had booked tickets for Rama Jain before it got cancelled. Got back princely 500 rupees each post cancellation, could have participated here if organizers allowed us to.

    Champ,
it was a significant interval between the Rama Jain cancellation announcement, and the idea of this tournament taking shape. It wasn’t supposed to replace Rama Jain pairs.
The tourney is expected to scale up significantly in next episode thanks to Mr. Dhawan’s commitment. We hope to see you there next year.
